Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend was a pretty great weekend! Kelly and Arielle and their kids, Bridget, James, and Ian came to visit me and Kevin. We were hoping to be in our by then, but that didn't happen... so Kevin and I had fun rearranging our apartment so that we could fit everyone! It was tight, but it was so much fun to have my brother and his family's company!!

One afternoon, we went to the Hands On museum in Ann Arbor. It was really fun and reminded me of a place our family went in Seattle when I was younger.

This station was fun. I walked past it at first, then it made me laugh when I stopped. It was something to show your body heat. I just thought it was funny that baby showed up, so I had to snap a picture!

We stopped to watch the tornado. It was pretty cool to watch it start.
This was so cute I had to take a picture! You have to pedal so that the light turns on. James couldn't quite reach the pedals, so Bridget spun them for him. Precious.

It took a little while to get these kids into the ambulance! There were a bunch of pushy kids who kept jumping in, in front of Bridget and James- so by the time it cleared out a little, they were too nervous or scared to get in, and another slew of kids would come running in in front of them. Once they got in they had fun though! {Just as a side note: I've got to hand it to Arielle! James is such a wiggly little guy! It is so hard to get a non-blurry picture of him!}

Haha, got one of Kelly without him knowing! At least you can tell Kelly is actually hanging. Kevin looks like he's just kneeling on the ground.... and biting his shirt... {bad angle there, my bad!}

 It took a little bit for the kids to warm up to us, but Ian was totally my buddy by the time they left for home. I even got a {blurry} smile out of him!!

Make a bubble around you! This center was really good. Bridget's bubble stayed up really well! James didn't have the same luck... some random kid came running in seconds after I got this picture and popped his bubble! :( James didn't seem much effected, so I guess it was all good. It's fun how bubbles just never get old! It was so much fun to watch Bridget and James...can't wait til our little guy grows up!

This was the highlight of the trip! The ball room! This center was actually set up by Toyota engineers... we didn't realize that until after we had left. {That's probably a good thing, or Kevin would have been critiquing it instead of playing with it...} At the end, James found out how much fun it is to throw balls at dad...{see video}.... and last picture is how it all ended. :D

After we got back, we went swimming at our apartment's pool. The pool itself was sooo cold! Once you got in it got better, but it was still chilly. We transferred over to the {not-so-hot} hot tub and it was wonderful! James was a little hesitant to get in at first....that soon turned into drinking the water... ya... he's such a fun little guy!! We miss having them here! It was so great to have company! It was especially fun to spend time every night playing games! Kelly and Arielle come back!!!!! We can't wait til you can visit when we are in our new house!

Sunday afternoon we had a bbq at Kay's house. The kids got along really well despite how shy they all are initially! It was great to sit and chat and eat Jason's bbq chicken, yum! While we were there Arielle told me about a friend of hers eating pineapple and then going into labor... there was pineapple....and I did partake!

The weekend was supposed to end with seeing Kelly and his family off around noon on Memorial Day, and then heading off to bbq with friends from the ward... but MY WATER BROKE around 4:00 in the morning!! The next post goes more in to detail, but needless to say, I didn't get to see them off, but I did get to snag a hug from Arielle and say a quick goodbye as we left for the hospital. Read the next post to hear how the rest of our day went :)
