We had this experience this morning and wanted to share with all of you. The topic in our ward and stake lately has been about "hastening the work." We've have been given the challenge to simply open our mouths and invite those we come in contact with to learn more about the gospel. Anyway, here's the story of what happened:
Last day of the month, but we met our goal! Kevin and I invited the girl who bought our car to learn about the church!!
I have been praying for an opportunity to "open my mouth" and have been frustrated because, being at home all day, I don't see many people who aren't already members of our church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).
The story and kind of strange, and not the kind of experience I thought I'd have. We posted our car for sale on craigslist and immediately had a few responses. A girl and her mom came and took it for a drive, they were interested, but wanted her dad to come take a look before they bought it. As they were coming back from test-driving it, another man came to look at it. The girl and her mom left and this other man took it for a drive. He came back and gave us an offer (talked really fast and was quite rude). In the end we agreed on it and he left (he gave us a deposit and planned to come back). Kevin and I both felt uneasy about the deal, but took it for what it was worth and tried to move on. Later that evening we both felt like we needed to call the girl and her mom back and give them a chance to make an offer. We ended up agreeing to meet with them this morning. We met with the other man and returned his deposit to him. He was nasty! Rude and yelling. All in Kevin's face about how it wasn't good business, how he was going to take us to court, just a bully. We understand that we went back on the deal we had made, but nothing was final and something didn't feel right to us.
Anyway, the girl came back this morning with her dad. They bought the car. We ended up chatting with them for a bit. Religion came up and I had the prompting to invite her to come to out church and learn from the missionaries. Turns out, she's been wanting to find a church for a while and she's been to a few that didn't treat her very kindly. I took a deep breath and invited. She accepted and wants to learn more!! I told her that we were signed up to feed the missionaries on the second Sunday of the month and we'd love to have her join us. She accepted that too!
My heart is overflowing right now. The Lord hears us and answers our prayers! He is most definitely "hastening the work." I know that we were in the right place at the right time this morning. I stand all amazed at the way the Lord uses us to accomplish His work!

LEGO Chair!
We built a chair out of the megablock legos. Cam has claimed it as his own.
It is his throne.
He pulls it apart and puts it back together so he can sit on it. It's stinkin' cute!
He did all the poses by himself. We did not tell him to get his dinosaur, he just ran and brought it back to sit in the chair. When he's not sitting in it, you can likely find his dinosaur in it.
Love him.
Oh, and don't mind his dinosaur. He pulled the eyes off, so now it looks kind of creepy. :)
Also, don't mind the blinds.....sorry. Also, he had just poured water down himself. Sorry....again.
Visit from Gma & Gpa Miller +
My parents, Gma and Gpa Miller, and my two youngest brothers came out to visit us this summer!
We took them out to Independence Lake one day. We rented a row boat and played in the sand. Cam wasn't so sure about the boat, but loved digging in the sand :) Thanks to Grandma finding some empty containers in their van to use to make sandcastles!
Grandma and Grandpa have a dvd player in their van. Cam was mesmerized by it, lol.
Later that day, the boys built a lego fortress around Cameron. He liked it until they filled it with his toys. In the first picture, Cam is combing his hair. It's his favorite thing to steal out the bathroom when we leave the door open and he can sneak in.
The next day was rainy. We spent a chunk of it at the Hands On Museum in Ann Arbor. I think Ammon and Kimball liked it was much as Cam did :)
Cam loves the water table!
Cam loves the water table!
The rest of the museum is pretty cool, we just don't usually see much of it since Cam likes the toddler room so much. There's an ambulance, a bubble room, a room with gears and engineery stuff, etc.
Upstairs there is a green screen and downstairs there's a huge room full of foam building blocks. Totally makes me feel like a kid again to play with those!
Caught Dad playing :)
Kevin builds, I throw, score, Ammon takes over..... hmmm.
Then we found our house on the giant google earth screen :)
It was a great way to spend a rainy day! :)
The next day wasn't nearly as cold or rainy. We decided to go check out the Rolling Hills Waterpark. Probably not the best day for a swim... there was a breeze which made it pretty cold pretty fast, but it wasn't bad once we were in :)
As we were leaving we saw all the birds perfectly lined up on the roof! :) lol
Grandpa getting some playtime in before Cam went to bed :) He liked showing off his loin hat to them :)
It was fun to see you, Mom and Dad!!! We love you! Come again!!!!!! :)
